Yes tires make the difference, but this exact scenario has more to do with the options on the car. The 2nd gen 300C comes standard with the comfort suspension and 18inch wheels. An upgrade option over that gives you 20 in wheels, which will add the touring suspension, which would be somewhat stiffer.
