The film begins with a crowd of young people sitting in terrible LA traffic in the hot sun, as a superimposed title ironically tells us that it's "Winter." It looks miserable. As everyone breaks La La Land is a 2016 American romantic musical comedy-drama film written and directed by Damien Chazelle, and starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as a musician and an aspiring actress who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles. People who are into musicals seem to bitch about it, though. Most of the singing and dancing are done by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, neither of whom are singers or dancers. The first being the phrase la la land, the second almost a pun referencing the fact that it's a musical, and lastly an actual pun, because the movie takes place in LA. After seeing the movie, I thought I was right about all three, with the movie itself expanding on and connecting those themes or ideas, in both concept and story.
Otherwise, La La Land was the better movie in pretty much every aspect of film making IMO. Like it didn't have any supporting performances as great as Mahershala Ali's, but kinda hard to hold that against the movie whereas it didn't even really have a need for supporting characters.
SPOILER: What a weird ending! I definitely cared way more about the second couple's relationship toward the end. So cute! And I honestly fast- forwarded through a lot of the last 2 episodes. It didn't make a lot of sense and I had a bad feeling about how it was going to end. But the ending was fine. Just super weird that they didn't show his face.
Discussion. Well guys it's the end of soul land 2018 - 2023, tbh this donghua helped me through my depression and anxiety, it's literally my comfort show.
