Personally, I don’t see the Final Choice of Life is Strange 1 to be a question of sacrificing one thing to save the other. The more accurate question of the Final Choice is this: Which timeline do you want Max to be in? The questions of morality &c are no longer an issue since Max is simply choosing a timeline. In one timeline, Chloe is alive
The ending choice should be Chloe leaving Arcadia Bay and Max deciding to go with or stay behind to finish school. That would be a great choice and work with the actual themes of the game the writers were trying to tell. Does she go off with Chloe for a New life or stay in Arcadia with her studies.
Many of the outcomes from these choices aren't things players would expect, with small choices having large impacts. RELATED: 10 Best Plotlines In Life Is Strange. Unusually for a choice-based game, the player can try out several possibilities before making a final choice.
Tell Chloe to throw out the gun. Tell Frank to close the door. Tell Frank you're sorry. Tell Frank you were scared or you were protecting Chloe. Tell Frank about dog rescue (or if you do not have that option, that you love dogs) Tell Frank that he knows Rachel. Chloe does not need to throw out the gun.

The choice about Sean taking Finn's blame has to be mentioned too. After a heartbreaking story about his past in the 3d episode, where Finn's father narced on all his children, including Finn, undoubtedly the most cruel choice is to make Sean testify against him.
